I've been reading through the posts here and I can see both sides of the debate... I do believe that ANet is honestly gratefully for their fans and do want to show their thanks..... (from the look of Riverside sometimes it makes me wonder why

lol).

I don't think it is bad that they choose to advertise this at all. I however don't believe its just a marketing ploy either. Yes, they need marketing but thats just the nature of the business. They wouldn't have 5,000,000 copies sold if they didn't.

ANet does make an effort to see what their fans want. Not everyone gets what everyone wants but thats the nature of the beast. They have shown many times over and over again that they are dedicated to their fans. Part of the reason I love Guild Wars so much.

What's wrong with success? It's well deserved. Guild Wars is the best MMO I've ever played. Arena Net is very grateful. They'll likely sell near 7+ million copies by the time GW2 is in the pipe.

Grats Arena Net. Keep grinding the naysayer's noses in it, you've done an amazing job.
